Instead of discussing the game, I would actually like to talk about the Pokemon in general.
Pokemon are actually inspired by the animals we see in real life (that was obvious enough, just wanted to get that part out of the way) Like how Pikachu is a mouse and arbok is a snake.
Some pokemon are just inspired by the general things in life like objects, ghost, poison, plants and many other things.
Pokemon assume things that are related to our reality from animals to objects to anything that has life in our world.
